2008 Main Event- Meet the Team!

So, who's responsible for putting together this wonderful event??? We have a dedicated band of people who, in their spare time put together the most awesome event. They dont get paid, there is no glory... and yet they keep coming back!

Andy Train- Company Director

This role is facilitating and chairing with an edge that maintains a constant Pride focus. It's about bringing the team together. The glue! Keeping the committee motivated and on target. Working very closely with the other Senior Management Team and Pride Executive Committee members.

Born in Ferriby, East Yorkshire. Has lived and worked in the area for most of his life based in and around Hull. Came out in 2002. Has to be involved, can't stand being left on the side lines. Has parallel careers in the world of entertainment and NHS. Works full time as a Training Officer / Registered Nurse with a background that revolves around resuscitation and Accident & Emergency work. Has been described as Charlie Fairhead meets Graham Norton. www.andytrain.co.uk

Ben Taylor- Administrative Director

As our Admin Director, its all about the sliding the paperwork, pushing the paperclips and making sure were legal! Its one of the more mundane roles, but Ben makes it an artform! He's best internal claim to fame has been the production of our official Hull Pride T-Shirts (tee hee!!!!) Seriously, to organise an event on this scale requires a lot of hoops to jump through and this is the role!

Born in Hull, after studing Management and HRM (Personnel to some or most) Ben headed for the bright lights of Manchester in search of wider things, only to return a year later in December to take up his current role with Lincolnshire Police, and to embark on his Masters. A Member of  the Charterted Management Institute and CIPD Ben has for many years worked  closely with Humberside LCJB and the Hull LGBT Forum to promote and campaign for better service provision and equality for the LGBT community. Over the years his role has seen him help launch both the True Vision and Witness Care Campaigns within Humberside. Perhaps too often seen out and about with a shifty drink his work is demanding and challenging, but he still finds time for everyone and Pride.  Despite deciding to relocate to Lincoln the day after he was elected to the SMT Ben is committed to supporting the values and organisation of Hull Pride.

At JUST 24, he is the second youngest Director of Pride (sorry Andy :-).

Damian Chapman- Finance Director

As our Finance Director, Damian’s responsibilities lie with making sure that everything is paid for, and that there is enough money to pay for it! As well as helping out in other areas, Damian makes sure that Pride gets everything it needs, and that the sponsors, the suppliers and the traders are all content. Working with the Pride Executive Committee, he is also helping the Fundraising and Sponsorship Coordinator and the Concessions Coordinator to enable them to do their jobs effectively.

Damian is the baby of the group and runt of the litter (haa haa haa) and grew up near Leeds in a small and sleepy village. After studying Management and Computer Programming at Hull University, he lived in Scarborough working for that more than reputable phone company with the hand signals!!! Two years ago, he joined Humberside Police and has never looked back. His work with the Gay Police Assocation and the LGBT Forum here in Hull helps to pass the time.
